In this pattern, a dominant, independent, photosynthetic phase, either thalloid or erect, is the haploid gametophyte which alternates with a short-lived, multicellular sporophyte that is partially or totally dependent on the gametophyte for anchorage and nutrition, as seen in all bryophytes.
En este patrón, la fase dominante, independiente, fotosintética y taloide o erecta es el gametofito haploide. Se alterna con un esporofito multicelular, de corta vida y parcial o totalmente dependiente del gametofito para anclaje y nutrición, como en todos los briófitos.
