Fallacy: Spotlight Effect. It's the belief that others are paying more attention to you than they actually are, when in reality they are likely more focused on themselves. For example, thinking everyone at a party is talking about you or noticing your minor flaws.

Definition and Examples | You think that everyone around you is paying attention to you and don't think about the fact that they are likely more focused on their own appearance, actions, and reputation (eg "Everyone at this party is probably talking about what they think of me; they're probably all wishing I would leave." "Everyone notices how my mouth hangs open."). |
