Statements Called Imperitives Precise Fixed Idea Behave Overestimate

The 'should or must statements' fallacy (also called imperatives) occurs when one has a rigid idea of how people should behave and overestimates the negative consequences if these expectations are not met.

Definition and Examples You have a precise, fixed idea of how you or other should behave, and you overestimate how bad it is that these expectations are not met (eg "People should dress appropriately or they will never find a job or a spouse.").
