hCG is formed at the site of the developing placenta after embryo implantation and is present in the mother's blood and urine. Monoclonal antibodies are created from a single clone of cells that target specific substances, grown by fusing antibody-producing B-cells with myeloma cells to create rapidly reproducing hybridomas.
