Antigen Antibody Chains Bind Specific Identical Polypeptide 4.1.1(h

Front Antibodies 4.1.1(h)
Back Antibodies (Y shaped glycoproteins called immunoglobulins) bind to specific antigen on pathogen or toxin that has triggered immune response, specific antibody for each antigen, made up of 2 identical long polypeptide chains (heavy chains) and 2 shorter identical chains (light chains), chains held by disulfide bridges (also polypeptide chains), antibody binds to antigen via lock and key, forming antigen - antibody complex, hinge region provides flexibility so it can bind 2 seperate antigens, one at each site
