Arterioles Venules Substances Cap Cells Endothelial Blood Deoxy

This card details capillaries, their microscopic structure, role in substance exchange, and adaptations that ensure efficient diffusion, including their large surface area and thin walls.

Tato karta podrobně popisuje kapiláry, jejich mikroskopickou strukturu, funkci při výměně látek a adaptace, které zajišťují efektivní difúzi, včetně velkého povrchu a tenkých stěn.

Front Capillaries 3.1.2(c)
Back - microscopic blood vessels linking arterioles and venules and form network across all tissues

- substances exchanged through cap walls between cells and blood, gaps between endothelial cells large (fenestrations) so site of substances entering/leaving

- arterioles (oxy blood) to cap to venules (deoxy blood) except in lungs/placenta (deoxy to oxy)

- Adaptations include providing higher SA for diffusion, cross sectional SA larger than arterioles so lower pressure and more time for diffusion, and cell wall single endothelial cell wall thick for fast diffusion
