Veins Blood Body Heart Venules Vena Cava Low

This card describes veins, their low-pressure structure, presence of valves, and adaptations that aid in returning blood to the heart.

Tato karta popisuje žíly, jejich strukturu přizpůsobenou nízkotlakému krevnímu toku, přítomnost chlopní pro zabránění zpětnému toku a adaptace, které pomáhají čerpat krev zpět do srdce.

Front Veins 3.1.2(c)
Back - carries deoxy blood away from body cells to heart, from cap to venules to veins to inferior vena cava (lower body to heart) / superior vena cava (upper body to heart)

- no pulse as low pressure, valves stop back flow, walls of collagen but little elastic fibre, wide lumen, endothelium

- venules link caps and veins, with thin walls with little smooth muscle

- as blood pressure low in veins, adaptions required for it to move against gravity
 - one way valves at intervals (blood towards heart, open, back flow, closer)

 - bigger veins between big active muscle (squeezed when muscles contract so blood to heart)

 - breathing movements of chest act as pump (squeezing blood in veins towards heart)
