Notes | In its 'or' meaning, -(이)나 is used to form a list of two (or more) nouns representing choice options. There are several grammatical rules to be considered when listing nouns. -(이)나 replaces the subject -이/가 and the object -을/를 markers, i.e., -(이)나 cannot occur alongside these markers. -(이)나 can be used after postpositions like -에, -에서 or -에게 forming -에나, -에서나 or -에게나. However, it is more natural to use -(이)나 by itself, instead of the postposition. For example, 'A나 B에' sounds more natural than 'A에나 B에'. |
