Rate Blood Levels Glomerular Filtration Kidney Creatinine Gfr

Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) refers to the volume of blood filtered by the kidneys in a given time. This rate can be measured indirectly via blood tests for creatinine levels, with higher levels indicating kidney damage, though other factors like gender and age also influence it.

Front glomerular filtration rate (GFR)
Back glomerular filtration rate (vol of blood filtered through kidneys in given time); kidney damage affects rate of filteration of blood in bowmans capsule, rate measured indirectly via blood test for creatinine levels (breakdown product of muscles, units cm3/min) in blood, higher levels indicate kidney not working properly but other factors affect creatinine levels e.g gender (men more muscle), age (decreases with age)
